Greetings from sunny Syd-e-ney!

It’s a widely-held misconception that Melbourne is Australia’s rainy city.

So rainy in fact, we’re currently teetering on the edge of Stage 4 water restrictions, and are about to build a desalination plant to meet the city’s water needs.

In my experience, it rains a whole lot more in Sydney. At least, the last few times I’ve been to Sydney it has bucketed. Therefore, my theory must be valid.

The girls and I are enjoying a few days break in Sin City at the home of my friend, M. And it’s raining. The rain started pretty much as soon as we got here, and has continued on and off ever since.

During the big storms two weeks ago, M posted some photos of the dramatic sinking of the Cremorne Point wharf and the Manly ferry surfing the (extremely rough) waves of the Sydney Harbour.

Terrific.

Now, having seen those photos, Queenie refuses to even contemplate boarding a Sydney ferry without first taking seasickness tablets.

The Harbour, by the way, despite the rain, looks as flat as a millpond.
