The international language of coffee

We had a favorite cafe in Nha Trang where they made a totally drinkable espresso coffee (The Paramount Cafe on Tran Phu).

After we had been there a couple of times, we didn’t even have to tell the waiters what we wanted, they knew our order already.

On our last day there our coffees arrived at our table, and I was quietly confident that the waiter was trying to hit on me when mine looked like this:

While The Poolboy’s looked like this:

But when The Poolboy ordered a second coffee, and his was just like my first, I was as deflated as the froth in a half-drunk cappuccino.
They’re fickle, those baristas.
