Strike it off the bucket list – Pompeii

Okay, so this post is going to be heavy on the pics and light on the words, as you all already know about Pompeii and I don’t want to kill your enthusiasm for this incredible place with too much detail.
Pompeii has been on my bucket list since I was about eight years old (waaaaaay before the term ‘bucket list’ was even thought of). I was completely beside myself with excitement to be actually visiting the ruins.

I was up early and surveying the site (and Vesuvius) from the hotel balcony.

Equipped with comfy shoes, bottled water, hats, sunscreen and a guide book, we were set for the day.

It truly is a magic experience to walk the streets of this ancient town, but the figure (above) reminds us of the tragedy.  Real people lived, played, worked, loved and died in this place.

Tomorrow…we are completely ruined.
