On to Batu Ferringhi

After a few days sight-seeing around George Town, we moved on to Batu Ferringhi which is a popular Penang beach resort area. There we stayed at The Lone Pine, which was the first hotel on the beach back in the 1950s. It has recently undergone a renovation and now has a laid-back 1970s-esque aesthetic.

The beach was beautiful to look at, but not so good for swimming as the water is quite polluted and home to many stinging jellyfish.  That didn’t matter as the hotel pool was just steps from the beach.
