We were spending a few days on a boat cruising along the Turkish Coast. Sitting on the back of the boat, looking into the water, I was struck by the almost iridescent blue of the Aegean Sea. Although the water beneath us was many metres deep, I could see straight through the first few metres to fish swimming in great schools below me.
I went to get my camera, convinced that there would be no way I could capture that colour…that anything I shot would be a poor imitation of real life. But in actual fact, the photos came pretty darn close.
For a little point-and-shoot, I think the Canon IXUS 240 did a fine job of pictorially freezing my memorable moment.
