Comment policy
Feet on Foreign Lands is a blog which encourages open and lively discussion on posts – therefore I really appreciate hearing from you, whether it be contributing to a discussion, adding further information or offering constructive criticism.
However, these types of comments will not be approved:
- Comments that are defamatory, or ones that attack or harm an individual or group
- Comments that have nothing to do with the post content (i.e. SPAM)
- Comments that are in a language other than English
- Comments that contain profanity
- Comments that reveal identifying details about another individual (phone numbers, email addresses etc.)
- Comments that contain links of a commercial nature
If you think a comment breaks one of these rules but has slipped through the net, then please feel free to bring it to my attention. Likewise, if you think I’ve unfairly disapproved your comment, then get in touch about that too.

Disclosure policy
Most of the products, services or suppliers mentioned or reviewed in any of my posts have been paid for anonymously by me. However, as I am open to paid reviews and affiliate links, I have instituted the following disclosure policy:
Partnered posts: A partnered post means I have received payment for writing the post and providing the supplier or brand access to my audience. That is all they have paid for. The opinion is all mine.
Review posts: A review post is one where I have received the item or experience for free. Again the post will be about my experience and it will contain my honest opinion.
Interest declared posts: Sometimes there will be some kind of interest that influences my decision to write about something or my experience of it. Perhaps I may personally know, or have a relationship with the supplier and/or they have offered a discount and/or they were aware I am a blogger at the time of providing the discounted product or service. I will always over- rather than under-disclose and provide that information where it is pertinent to the post.
Affiliate links: This website may contain affiliate marketing links, which means I may get paid commission on sales of those products or services I write about. The editorial control of the content however is not influenced by advertisers or affiliate partnerships. From time to time, a post may contain a link to products or services that have an associated affiliate program. This means if you purchase after following a link from my blog, I make a small percentage of the sale price. The price charged to you is not altered, but the seller of the product shares a percentage of the profits with me.
